Hiring a game sound designer
How much does a game sound designer cost?
Every project gets a custom quote. The price depends on the number of sound effects and ambiences, whether you need original music, whether sounds must be implemented in the engine, and your deadline. Send a short brief and you will receive a clear quote within 24 hours.
Can I hire you remotely for my indie game?
Yes. George works remotely with game studios and solo developers worldwide. Communication is in English, by email or video call, and files are shared through the cloud, so location and time zone are not an issue.
Which game engines and audio tools do you work with?
Sound design is built and tested in Unreal Engine, and George also has experience with FMOD. Sounds can be delivered as standard audio files for any engine, including Unity and Godot.
What do I need to send to get started?
A short description of the game, a gameplay video or build if available, a list of the sounds you need (or the features that need sound), a few reference games or sounds you like, and your deadline.
Do you also compose music for games?
Yes. Alongside sound design, George composes original game music: themes, loops, menu music and cutscene scores, as well as music and sound for trailers.
What file formats do you deliver?
High-quality WAV files by default, clearly named and organized, in the sample rate and format your project needs. Variations of each sound can be included so repeated actions don’t sound identical.
How fast is the turnaround?
Timelines are agreed per project, based on scope. You will always get a reply within 24 hours and a clear delivery schedule before work starts.
